Hey,

first we started the class with a warm up about vampires thanks to a report from the History Channel.

Useful vocabulary:

to consume = consommer / to prey on = chasser / consenting = consentant / considerate = attentionné / a motorist = un automobiliste / handcuffed = menotté/ an amount = une quantité / to pass away = trépasser (mourir)/ hitchhiking = de l'auto-stop/ to overpower = dominer / tied (up) = attaché / a needle = une aiguille / a syringe = une seringue / a bathtub = une baignoire

(thanks to Frédérick Chesneau for sharing this creepy video)

You can watch it again below:

Here is what you said about the document:

The document is a report from the History Channel, so it should be accurate but I actually think it's a spoof.
To my mind, vampires don't really exist. It's just a bunch of crazy people who follow a trend.
Frank, who is our god (or not...), has never seen a vampire in his life, even when he was drunk. So that must be a proof...
Legend has it that vampires feed on blood to survive but I believe it's just a legend. If there were blood-thirsty creatures, there would be more unsolved murders.

Then we continued studying our text on mobile phones. Here is what we said:

The text is about the use of mobile phones in the world, and particularly in the Middle East. On average, the Lebanese spend 12h30 on their mobiles. They must have unlimited voice packages. If we compare it to the class's use of cell phones, 2nde 5 freshmen look ridiculous. They only spend about 1h on their cell phones on average.

HW: don't forget that next week, you will need to bring all the files that we have written since the beginning of the year. You will have to write some notes so that you can review them when you start over next year, hopefully in Junior year.
