http://www.gwsr.com/media/88933/land%20girls%20poster.jpgHey,

here is the correction that I have typed out for your last dialogue of the year. Unfortunately, so far, there hasn't been any good written expression... (I haven't corrected every paper yet...) So I had to create my own version of the rest of the story. We will use it on Thursday to see how it was possible to do something very good out of your classes.

Hey,

First we had Juliette's presentation about a video clip. Here is what we wrote after her report:

"to be written by ..."

She will have to record her presentation on the blog (audio dropbox) if she wants her grade to be validated.

Then we corrected the exam on the text entitled "Moira and the Gunman" and we translated one sentence from this text which was difficult to transpose.

Here is what we said:

"to be written by ..."

Finally in the 2nd part of the lesson, you had to take a written expression test about Stella, Joe, and Philip (the characters of our text). Here is what the assignment was:

Philip finally comes home. Stella and Joe are present. Write the scene. (200-250 words)

Hey,

today we first corrected the exercise you had to do for today.

Here is the correction:

"to be written by Julien"

Then I gave you the correction for your translation and we commented upon it. I also gave you your tests back. We will correct them tomorrow before you take your final test on the sequence.

Hey,

today we first talked about Emmanuelle's presentation of the video clip "Fireflies" by Owl City. Here is what we said about it:

"to be written by..."

Then we moved on with continuation of our text and its analysis. Here is what we said about it:

"to be written by..."

Finally we worked on how to convert direct speech into indirect speech. Here is what we wrote:

"to be written by..."

HW: convert the rest of the dialogue + get prepared for your final exam on Friday = 1 hour test (on Britain at war + dialogue)

Hey,

today we first did a quick recap of vocabulary from the visual document and the text we had begun the week before. Then we continued speaking about the text and commenting on it, specifically on the characters' attitudes.

Here is what we said as a whole:

"to be written by Julien"

Hey,

today you really pissed me off with your chatting all the time... so much that I decided to stop the class short and have you get out! You didn't deserve me teaching you anymore.

You had better change behaviour and quick!

First we warmed up with a fun video document and here is what we said about it:

"to be written by... "

Then we recapped what had been said previously about the Blitz and we commented on the figures of the global death toll. Then we moved on with the study of the picture and the last text before the end of class.

Here is what we said about the picture:

"to be written by ..."

The text is entitled "Torn Apart" (p. 52-53) and here is what it deals with:

"to be written by ..."

I'm warning you that if I ever have to stop again during one of my classes because you are too chatty, there will be much worse consequences for you!

You'll have a test next week about this text unless you do participate and make a collaborative effort to improve and focus your attention.

I'm not in class like in a kinder garden and I don't intend to teach brats who don't take their education seriously. Is that clear?!

Hey,

today we started the last sequence of the year entitled:

"The UK at war"

We first studied a document about the London Blitz and here is the timeline that we drew summing up the document:

"to be written by ..."

We also made a list of important vocabulary words related to the event. Here it is:

"to be written by ..."

HW: what is the global death toll of the London Blitz? Find the figure.

Hey,

today we first started the class with a report from the news website Reuters. You can watch the document again below:

Here is what we said about it:

"to be written by Julien"

Then we continued speaking about the text with the help of the worksheet and we finished it. Here is what we said:

"to be written by Julien"

Evenutually, I asked you to translate a part of the text (from line 18 to line 26). Here is the original extract + the beginning of the translation:

"to be written by Julien"

New vocabulary:

"to be written by Julien"

HW: remember that you will take a 2-hour test next Friday that will include 3 parts: Comprehension, Expression, and Translation. Get ready! I will try to give you back the correction of your dialogues before that date.

Hey,

today we first warmed up about current topical issues, first on a national basis, on a European basis, and on an international basis. Here is what we said:

"to be written by ... "

Then we continued speaking about the text even though most of you didn't have their books! Just unacceptable! You'd better bring them tomorrow...

HW: those who haven't turned in their dialogues MUST do it tomorrow (even those who were on a trip in Greece or China...) + you need to finish the exercises from your worksheet (down to ex. #9) + you have to keep up-to-date about the British election and tell me who won.
