Hey,
today we first started with the class with a usual warm up. Today it was about the Internet and here is what we said:
How much time do you spend on the internet?
I usually spend 5 hours a day. I love the internet, I log on to my facebook and msn accounts and I chat with my friends. Marine thinks it's too much. She believes Nadia is an internet addict.
The internet can become an addiction like smoking or taking drugs.
However, the effects on health are indirect. You can lack sleep and have epilepsy crisis.
Moreover, there are many things on the internet which are not supervised.
Then we started a new activity with the study of both texts and pictures (pp. 114-115 in your books). Here is what we said about the differences between the French school system and the American school system:
American students practice different activities:
1. American football: we also have football at Champlain but it is not as popular as in the US.
2. In the US, there are highschool parades whereas in France the tradition doesn't exist.
3. School starts at 7:30 and ends at 2:05
The schedule is different from the French schedule. In France, the schedule is more extensive.
4. In the US, the marking system is alphabetical, whereas in France it is numerical: it ranges from 0 to 20 while in the US it ranges from A to F(ail) or 0 to 100.
Here are the documents that we commented on. Both pictures and text:

Finally we made a recap about the important things we had studied during the class.
I'll see you on Wednesday and we'll finish this activity.
