Recap + grammar check

Hey,

today we first warmed up about the good resolutions that you will carry out this year. Here is what you said:

I will pass my driving lincense.
I will work harder at school.
I will stay single because men are jerks
I will become the best rap singer with my band

Valeur de WILL:
  à la fois notion d'événement futur mais aussi notion de volonté.

cf. a will of testament:
un testament, les dernières volontés.

Then we did a quick recap of what we had said about what it means to be British and French and we saw that stereotypes were classifications that were dependent on national origins, looks, or genders, ... etc. and that they weren't true for everybody. We should broaden our minds and be more open-minded without classifying people.

Finally we did a little grammar on "as if" and the "possessive" in English. Here is what we said:

On ne peut mettre " 's " à un nom que s'il y a une relation appartenance-objet forte entre les deux noms.
ex: Harry's bar

L'ordre des mots : Article poss + nom
my / your / his / her / our / your / their + nom

Here is the chart of the pronouns and articles (subject, complement, possessive article, possessive pronoun):

Subject ->  Complement -> Possessive Article ->  Possessive Pronoun

I -> Me -> My -> Mine
You -> You -> Your -> Yours
He/She/It -> Him/Her/It -> His/Her -> His/Hers
We -> Us -> Our -> Ours
You -> You -> Your -> Yours
They -> Them -> Their -> Theirs

HW: you will have a test next Friday on the sequence "stereotypes".

For tomorrow, please,

BRING YOUR BOOKS!
