Module: Asking questions + Understanding a text

In module today, we first warmed up about the good resolutions of you and your parents... what should you / they do or stop doing this year...? And here is what we wrote:

- I will spend more time studying
- I will try to increase my grades in English
- I will follow my good resolution
- I will be less absent-minded

A will of testament: un testament, les dernières volontés.

On comprend bien ici a valeur de WILL qui non seulement exprime le futur mais également la volonté, l'implication du sujet dans la réalisation de l'action.

Then we moved on speaking about my X-mas and you had to ask questions in the past. Here are some of the questions you asked:

"I spent X-mas alone with my cat"

- What happened?
- Why were you with your car on X-mas day?
- What activities did you do with you cat?
- Where did you celebrate X-mas?
- You're kidding, aren't you?

Finally, we began studying a new document: an extract from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. There are some techniques you need to learn to understand a text.
1- Identify the characters (actually present and only mentionned).
2- Ask yourself and highlight time / place / behaviour... indicators.
3- Know the basic assignment verbs (e.g. "translate", "select", "sum up", ...)

Here is the answer for the first two questions on characters, place, and time:

"to be written by Wafa"

HW: you need to complete the worksheet (Questions 2 to 4) and translate the words in bold letters.
