Maeva's Presentation + Correction of your exercises + Comment on the text + translation

Hey,

today we first had a little warm up with Maeva who commented on the song "Tik Tok" by Kei$ha. She will need to send me her audio presentation via the Audio Dropbox section so that she can validate her grade.

Then we corrected 2 exercises that you had to complete for today. Here is the correction:

Then we continued speaking and commenting about the text "Junk Food Heaven" and particularly about the 1st §. Here is what we said:

Bill Bryson, the narator has always loved junkfood but he hasn't been able to buy any since he married his wife in 1977. The scene takes place in 1997 so we can say that junk food has existed for a very long time. After coming back from England, the couple decided to go to the supermarket. The husband hoped that he could bring home greasy food in the spirit of "American eating". But the wife behaves the same way as she used to in England, i.e. she wants to bring back healthy food. US supermarkets prove that US citizens eat foods that are extremely high in fat. It isn't balanced at all. There is gap between the husband and wife's attitudes. The wife pays attention to her waistline whereas the husband doesn't care. They don't agree with what to put in the trolley.
For the husband, it's a pain the neck ( in the arse*** [UK] / in the ass*** [US]).
