today we first commented on the following picture:
Here is what we said about it: What will you say to your teen/teenager if he comes back home with lots to piercing ?
"I forbid you!" "How dare you!" "What the Hell** were you thinking!" "What on Earth* were you thinking!"
Your reactions: Negative ones: - for me, it's ugly. - you'll have difficulties to find a job. - with a lot of piercings, you may have problem in your ear. - when your ears are pierced in the bone, they may get infected more easily.
Neutral ones: It doesn't shock me. Everybody has his or her / their own style but I wouldn't do this. They want to assert their style. For me, It's a kind of / a form of / a sort of rebellion. It's a phenomenon of fashion. Lots of teenagers want to reproduce this style.
Then we started studying a song by P!nk entitled "Family Portrait". Here is what we said about the analysis: The beginning of the song:
The tone is particularly / highly / extremely / quite sad: I can hear the voice of the singer. She iscrying/whining.
The tone is blue and nostalgic / melancholy.
The songs deals with the problem in her family. For her, it was like Hell. Vocabulary: (to) whine = gémir, geindre melancholy = mélancolique
Finally we started filling in the blanks and understanding the meaning of the song. Next time, we will finish the analysis of the song (meaning, rhythm, ...)
