Junk Food Heaven - beginning of the text

Hey,

today we first did a quick warm up. Here is what we said:

I don't speak Spanish very well.
I don't speak English very well either.
But I speak English better than Spanish.

Then we began to study a new document. We first analysed the picture and then the general comprehension of the text. Here is what we said:

The text is an extract from Bill Bryson's autobiography entitled "Notes from a big country" and published in 1998.

It's about / it deals with junk food.

Bill Bryson and his wife have moved to America after spending twenty years in England / They used to live in England, whereas now they live in America.

The scene takes place at the supermarket.
Bill is fond of junk food whereas his wife doesn't want him to eat garbage food / unhealthy food.

HW: You need to learn your lesson and new vocabulary by heart. You also need to translate this sentence into English:

"Avant mes parents fumaient 5 paquets de cigarettes par jour. Maintenant, depuis la nouvelle loi, ils n'en fument plus que 2."
