Evolution of the Characters' feelings

Hey,

today first warmed up with what you had done during the break and with what I did during the holidays... I adopted 24 babies!

Here is how you can react:

Oh come on! Cut the crap**! Stop your nonsense!

Then we continued speaking about the text and after making a quick recap of what we had said about it, we analysed the characters' feelings in a chart. Here is what we said about Maria and Antonio:

Maria:
1) Nervous and then anxious. She interrupts the geneticist because she doesn’t agree with him. She is shocked.
2) Maria has doubts / she is half-convinced. She is doubtful / in doubt.
3) She is hesitant and suddenly enthused / exited / enthusiastic / elated.
4) …is staring at... -> regard insistant.

Antonio:
1) He is also nervous but more diplomatic.
2)He is trying to convince and reassure his wife. He understands the geneticist’s arguments better.
3) less sensitive / emotional
4) blank / he shrugs.

Finally, we concluded with a graph of how to represent the evolution of the characters' feelings.

Additional vocabulary of the lesson:

De plus en plus ... : more and more... // ...-er and ...-er
(to) stare at ...:  fixer du regard (connotation = choc, étonnement)
(to) gaze at ...: fixer du regard (connotation = choc positif, émerveillement)
(to) glance at ...: lancer un regard (connotation = regard furtif)
