Cartoon follow-up work + Table manners: the rules

Hey,

nibble.jpgtoday we first spoke about our cartoon again (for the last time). Here is what we added in our commentary:

The couple has not just started to eat.
They have been eating / nibbling for a long time.
They have emptied a cardboard box of junk food and they have opened another paper bag of chips. I think there are flies in the French fries.

The French fries have certainly been sitting there for a long time.

The couple has already eaten their hamburgers.

Grammar: Present Perfect et Present Perfect Be+ing

HAVE (present) + verbe participe passé.
-> Valeur: action qui a une répercussion dans le présent.

HAVE (present) + been + V-ing
-> Valeur de BE+ing: indice dans l'environnement / traduire des émotions tel que l'énervement.

Victor's brother has not just started to play the guitar.
He has played for 3 years. Antoine is now a good player.

Situation: Antoine is playing the guitar. I'm watching tv.

I can say to my mum : "Mom, I want Antoine to stop! He has been playing for two hours. I can't stand it anymore! Make him stop. I want to watch my programme."

Finally we did a quick recap about table manners. You also had to invent some crazy table manners... Here is what we said:

These are many recommendations if you are invited at the queen's for dinner, you should abide by some rules:

You must be polite.
You mustn't use your fingers.
You must use your knife and fork to eat.
You may use your hands only for the bread.
You should put the bread on to a special plate.
You should wait for the next dish with your hands on your lap.

HW:

You need to translate those 2 sentences into English:

- Cela fait 20 minutes que j'attends mon bus. J'en ai marre!

- Il fait de la cuisine depuis 6 ans. Maintenant, c'est vraiment un grand chef.

+ take pictures of yourself to illustrate some of your crazy table manners rules.
