Tuesday, November 17th

Today, we were  to correct the exercices about the text Back to School. As many of you did not do the exercises, I made you do them in class.
But first :

Verbes irréguliers

Infinitif : to forget ... Prétérit: forgot ... Participe passé : forgotten  ... traduction : Oublier
Infinitif : to get ... prétérit : got ... participe passé : got ... traduction : obtenir
Infinitif : to tell ... prétérit : told ... participe passé : told ... traduction : dire, raconter
Infinitif : to send ... prétérit : sent ... participe passé : sent ... traduction : envoyer
Infinitif : to make ... prétérit : made ... participe passé : made ... traduction : faire, fabriquer
Infinitif : to freeze ... prétérit : froze ... participe passé : frozen ... traduction : geler
Infinitif : to know ... prétérit : knew ... participe passé : known ... traduction : savoir, connaître
Infinitif : to feel ... prétérit : felt ... participe passé : felt ... traduction : (se) sentir
Infinitif : to speak ... prétérit : spoke ... participe passé : spoken ... traduction : parler
Infinitif : to be ... prétérit : was / were ... participe passé : been ... traduction : être
Infinitif : have to ... prétérit : had to ... participe passé : had to ... traduction : être obligé de
Infinitif : to see ... prétérit : saw ... participe passé : seen ... traduction : voir

Attention : Get - 1er sens "OBTENIR" quand on le trouve seul
Ex : I got a 20/20 in English

- 2ème sens avec "HAVE" : have got = on ne le traduit pas
Ex : I have got two sisters

- 3ème sens: To get + Adj. = devenir
Ex : I'm getting angry = je deviens en colère = je m'énerve

We also corrected the exercise on CAN'T- MUST and MAY
CAN'T: Impossibilité
MUST: Quasi certitude
MAY: Eventualité

Thank you Jérémy for your notes.

HOMEWORK: LEARN THE LESSON. YOU MAY HAVE A QUIZ NEXT TUESDAY

Study hard for your tests...
