The House - Final class + Prepositions of place (song)

Hi guys,

today we first finished explaining the problems in the house that the Masons visited and we read out the script with the correct intonation.

Then we continued the class with learning about can / can't :

-> CAN = permet de faire passer l'information sensorielle (son, vue, ...).

-> Lorsque l'on met CAN'T = il y a un blocage. 'T bloque l'information.

Ex: I can hear a ghost but I can't see it! It's so scary!

Attention à l'accentuation de CAN et CAN'T:

CAN n'est pas accentué dans la phrase. C'est le verbe qui suit (ici, "hear") qui l'est.

CAN'T est accentué et donc prononcé en forme pleine. On s'arrête très légèrement après CAN'T pour marquer l'accentuation.

Finally, we practised the different prepositions of place to be able to locate things in space.

Homework:

- avoir bien terminé la fiche de travail distribuée (tous les mots manquants doivent être remplis, et la partie vocabulaire [en bas de la fiche également]. Vous devez avoir un mot en anglais pris de la chanson sous chaque illustration.

- répéter la chanson à haute voix en karaoké avec la chanson et n'hésitez pas à faire la chorégraphie du refrain pour bien vous rappeler le sens des mots.
