The end of the text - How to write a dialogue + tattoos and piercings

Hey,

http://photodezign.free.fr/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/dialogue-bulles.jpgtoday we finished speaking about the text and understanding how you can find the meaning of some words even if you don't know them at first (= comprehension techniques).

Then we reviewed how to build a dialogue in English and the differences from a French dialogue. Here reads the methodology:

* Les différences entre l'anglais et le français:

- Pas de tiret ----> le tiret est le symbole de la pause en anglais.
- "..." ----> entre les guillemets, seulement ce qui est prononcé par les personnes. Toute partie narrative est en dehors des guillemets et la plupart du temps, les verbes sont conjugués au prétérit.
- he said ----> Sujet-Verbe (complément). L'ordre reste classique = pas d'inversion.

* Les ajouts aux verbes:

- Adverbe (-ly) ----> they said softly
- in a ... voice / tone (adj) ----> they said in a soft voice
- with + emotion / noun ----> they said with softness

HW: you need to write a dialogue about the following subject -> Write the scene between Neil and his father before he went to see Mr Keating (about 200 words)
