Module: creating a written comprehension test

Hey,

today we first warmed up about the tradition of Christmas carols (2nd group) and the dreadful X-mas I spent (1st group) and here is what we said about it:

1st Group:
I spent X-mas alone with my cat! (React)

----> Expressing sympathy:

- Poor you!
- What a pity!
- It's so unlucky!
- I feel sorry for you!

___________________________________________________

2nd Group:
The most famous Christmas carol is "Jingle Bells"
Félicien : "I prefer Halloween to X-mas because I don't sing very well"
Léna : "I also prefer Halloween because I don't sing very well either"

- " " are inverted commas (guillemets)
- "either" est utilisé dans les phrases négatives et peut se traduire par "non plus"

Then, we corrected the end of the worksheet on Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone.
Here are the answers for question 4 + the translation of the words in bold letter in exercise 5:

QUESTION 4:

- The right box is : "Harry has no other family".

Synonyms:

- Standing up suddenly : Jumping to her feet
- Hitting with his feet: Kicking
- Shouting loudly: screaming / crying

Why does professor MgGonagall disapprove of Dumbledore's decision ?

- She disapproves of Dumbledore's decision because she doesn't want Harry to live in a mean family. She feels sorry for fim. She can't accept this situation. She thinks Harry Potter will be treated badly.

TRANSLATION:

Fill in the blanks with the appropriate article/preposition: Remplir les trous avec la préposition appropriée

Put the verbs in brackets in the right tense : Mettre les verbes entre parenthèses au bon temps

Translate the following sentences : Traduire les phrases suivantes.

Complete the chart below with irregular verbs: Compléter le tableau ci-dessous avec des verbes irréguliers

Match these words with their pronunciation: Relier ces mots avec la correcte pronciation.

Rephrase the following sentences using the prompts given:
Reformuler les phrases suivantes en utilisant les suggestions données.

Write every other line: Ecrire une ligne sur deux.

Copy your subject and indicate how many words you have used: Recopier le sujet et indiquer combien de mot vous avez utilisé.

Finally, we moved on with the study of a new text about school (2nd group) and moving out (1st group). Your task will be to create a test for the other group about this text. So you first had to analyse it. You had to highlight all the important elements dealing with the usual questions who / where / when / how...

HW: for next time, you need to create 5 different questions about the text according to your group, i.e. if you are in a "who" group = you need to ask 5 questions about the characters. You need to vary the type of questions that you formulate (true or false, select the correct answer, summary, translate, give equivalents, in your own words, etc...)
