Module : Aids + Ireland Tour

Today,

First group: we first spoke about traveling to London for the sales as a warm up. Here is what we said:

"to be written by Marine".

Second group: we first did a quick recap about Aids and how you get it and how you can protect yourself against it. We used three structures of advice to speak about the problem:

"to be written by Foulé".

Then, we talked a little about Ireland and its customs. Here is what we wrote:

"to be written by Foulé".

First group: then, Marine spoke about Aids and about the document we studied last time. Here is what she said:

Aids is a disease due to an infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Aids is an acronym for Acquiered Immunodefiency Syndrome. When HIV infection becomes advanced it is often refered to as Aids.

I can have Aids with sexual transmission, blood transmission, or mother to child transmission.

There is no cure for Aids and it's easy to see why an HIV positive person might want to believe in an Aids cure. Although anti-retroviral treatments can weaken HIV- the virus that causes Aids- and can delay illness for many years, it cannot clear the virus completely.

Women can use the pill to avoid pregnancy. However, the pill doesn't protect against Aids. We don't have any other choice but to use condoms and to accept their constraints if we want to protect ourselves and our partners.

If you want me to correct your notes about the document, feel free to send them to me; I'll correct them.

Finally, we began to speak about Ireland as a country to visit. We spoke about the traditions and about the landscapes. Here are some adjectives you can use to describe Ireland:

"to be written by Marine".

A tour of Ireland

HW: for next time, you need to prepare an oral presentation about Ireland and the places you would like to go in Ireland and why. + J'interrogerai à nouveau plusieurs personnes sur le document AIDS de la dernière fois comme s'il s'agissait d'un document de bac (5 minutes de présentation, 5 minutes de dialogue).
