Mark's trip to the USA + The Gold Rush

Hi guys,

today we did a quick recap of the different destinations where Mark had gone during his holidays and here is what we said:

Mark's trip to the USA :
He probably took off from London and flew to New-York where he landed at JFK, La Guardia, or New-York airport. He visited Niagara Falls. Then he may have flown from NY to Arizona where he visited Grand Canyon.
Then he may have ridden a train to Yellowstone and he may have driven to Los Angeles (Hollywood) at the end of his trip.

Then we continued the lesson with a deeper analysis of the document and talked more about the gold rush:

The Gold Rush, aka "the Gold Fever":

It's a period in the USA when people went to California (more specifically to San Francisco) to find gold and to become rich.

It started in 1848 when John Marshall found a gold nugget in a river. The population of San Francisco increased dramatically (1848-1850) from 800 inhabitants to 40,000.

Now, many cities of the Gold Rush are abandoned. They are ghost towns where nobody lives.
