If Game + New text: "The Rolls-Royce"

Hey,

 

today we first started the class with a little "If game" and here is what we wrote in our lesson copy books about it:


"Speaking" :  "If" Games :

IF + PRETERIT => WOULD + VERBE

If I broke a vase while babysitting I would pay for it or I would accuse
the baby.
If I could become invisible, I would strike it rich because I would steal from people.
If I could fly away this instant, I would go to the USA.
If it rained everyday of my holiday, I would buy an umbrella and I would feel disappointed.


Then we continued the lesson with the study of a new text. You had to find who the characters were and what their characteristics were. Here is the chart that we began drawing about them:

The characters:

Joe (I): The narrator, an adult / a grown-up; => He remembers his childhood, when his father was about 50 (cf. "bits of white in his beard")

Peter (he): Joe's father,  he wanted a car when the narrator was young, more precisely a Rolls-Royce. He's dead now.

Emily (she): Joe's mother
