I'm the next Master Chef!

http://a3.twimg.com/profile_images/1007961760/RED_MASTER_LOGO_copy.jpgHey guys,

today we started a new sequence about cooking. I hope you will enjoy it!

Here is your final task:

You will record yourself in front of a camera speaking about a recipe. You will need to:

- present your ingredients

- indicate all the steps of the recipe

- talk about the history of the dish while cooking

At the end of the project, you will need to bring your food to class and you will have to present it in front of jury who will ask you questions and criticize positively or negatively what you have done. Get ready! 'cause you're the next Master Chef!

Here is what we did today. You first had to make research about some dishes originating from the different parts of the English-speaking world.

Here are the ingredients that you talked about and sometimes mispronounced:

"to be written by ..."

Then, we watched a naan recipe and you learnt how to make a naan, the typical Indian bread. You can watch the video again below (I wouldn't mind it if you brought me a piece of your tentative creations some day...):

Here is what we said about it (ingredients + steps):

"to be written by ..."

BE CAREFUL! You forgot to mention: "baking powder" in the ingredients otherwise your dough will never grow and your naan will remain plain flat...

Finally, you had to begin and complete a crossword puzzle with culinary-related words. You can download it again below. By the end of this sequence, you will need to know all these words by heart and many more...:

HW:

NB: Julie E., as you were absent today, you will be either working with Victoria on "Christmas Pudding" or on something of your own if you don't want to pair up for this dish. You have "Clam Chowder" and "Blood Sausage" left. Take care.
