today we first started as usual with a quick warm up about the celebration of Saint Patrick's Day in Chicago. Here is the report that we watched:
Here is what we said about it: The document is a news report about a tradition in Chicago. It consists in dying the river green. The tradition has lastedfor 46 years(durée)/since 1962(date) Many people from around the world go to Chicago to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. It has been a sucess for many years. The tradition has it to pour hundreds of pounds of vegetable dye in the river. It stays green for a couple hours / about 2 hours
Then we continued speaking about the document entitled "Guns". Here is what we said about the attitudes of the two boys and some useful vocabulary: Brian is proud to show off the guns to Kevin, who is surprised. The teenager probably wants to take his revenge because his sister has been injured. Kevin calls his friend names: he says he is a "nit", an idiot. It makes them furious / infuriates them. Maybe they will start to fight.
