Continuation of the story

Today,

we first warmed up with the sentence "My mother is 92 years old" and you had to react and guess why.

Then we corrected the exercise you had to complete about "interro-negative exclamations". Here is the correction:

1/ Doesn't he look silly!
2/ Haven't they changed!
3/ Doesn't she hate them!
4/ Weren't you tired!
5/ Didn't she look disappointed!

Attention à l'accent de phrase qui portera sur le mot le plus important!

Then we continued to speak about the short-story. Here is what we wrote in the lesson copybooks:

-> How surprised Margie was when she discovered Tommy found a real book!
-> You can't imagine how shocked Tommy was when he understood that old books only had one fonction!
-> How amazed they were when they realized that books used to be printed on paper!
-> How terrible Margie thinks her school is!

1°/b) Books appear/are displayed on TV screens. They are called "telebooks".

1°/d)Tommy found the book in the attic. It's a place where people store old things, things that they don't need anymore.
It reveals that people don't need paper books anymore. They belong to the past.People used to read regular books but now they read books on screens.

Finally, you had to draw a chart and scan for information about the characters.

HW: you need to complete this chart about the 4 characters which appear in the text. You also need to read the entire short story carefully and complete questions 2 - a / b / c / d of your worksheet. You can download it here again:
