After introducing the rules in the English class, I gave you some baccalauréat subjects among which was the one of last year. We began studying how to complete such an exercise and here is what we said:
1) Read the whole text + the assignement. The questions can already give lots of answers or help you understand the text better.
2) During the second reading, highlightin the text everything that will help you understand the characters, the place, the time, and the main events better.
3) Make a short summary about what you understand in the text.
-> "The scene takes place in the USA, in South Carolina. Sarah and Gillon are the main protagonists.They meet in an art gallery where Gillon works.They are grandmother and granddaughter. They are two opposite characters. While Gillion is rather broke, Sarah is filthy rich. She lives in a luxury hotel with a cook whereas Gillion rents a "cheap" place. Apparently, the grandmother has come to say hello but also to invite Gillon for dinner. She actually wants her to meet Henry again. She expects him to become her future grandson-in-law..."
