Presentation + Michael Jackson's burial + Real TV

Today was the first English class of the year and as you had two hours in a row, we able to begin the first sequence. But before that we talked a little about burning news, i.e. Michael Jackson's burial.

And here is approximately what we said :

"Michael Jackson was buried yesterday in Los Angeles in the presence of his family and friends after waiting two months in his golden coffin, waiting to be autopsied several times... How gruesome and shocking! I am a fan of the star and I've followed the case but I also find it scandalous to see so many policemen at his funeral waiting outside the graveyard, protecting a corpse, when you know that they could help people evacuate the city because of the tremendous fire that's tearing the city apart."

Be careful to the difference between adjectives in -ed and -ing like :
- shocking <---> shocked
- interesting <---> interested ...

In the second part of the class, I had you listen a first time to the recording entitled "New Forms of TV".
We just had time to list some real tv show names and their equivalent in French and to make hypotheses about the opinion of the characters on these shows.

You'll need to confirm these hypotheses next time. You said that the woman seemed against, whereas the man was rather for... Listen and check !
