Then we worked on a video.

This exercise has two purposes.

-First, it will allow you to watch and listen to a job interview in English and to learn from it in order to be able to do the same in a future role play, where I would be the employer and you the job seeker.

-Second, it is destined to give you some training for your future oral exam called the CCF(=Contrôle en Cours de Formation) that you will take during the second term of next year where you will have to explain in English what you understand from a video or a recording in English.

Document: Job interview 1

Why don’t you tell me about yourself ?

IS A QUESTION THAT CAN BE ASKED IN A JOB INTERVIEW

I) Presentation of the document
What- Who- Where

This document is video coming from a British website called videojug

It is an example of a job interview

We can see: A career consultant

A person who plays the role of the employer

A person who plays the role of the job applicant, the job seeker

The dos

Ce qu’il faut faire

The don’ts

Ce qu’il ne faut pas faire

A job applicant must show he/she has read the job description

A job applicant must speak about herself/himself in a professional context

A job applicant mustn’t speak about his/her personal life

Donner des conseils = to give advice

Donner des tuyaux /trucs = to give tips

To sell, sold, sold= vendre

To buy, bought, bought=acheter

Your good points= yourqualities

For this role=for this job

Private/personal life

Montrer=to show

     Un produit= a product

Thanks Gina for the lesson.
