 Today we started a new sequence. New York and Immigration to the US

This photo is a photo of New-York.

It was taken from Manhattan. It may have been taken from a chopper, because we can see skyscrapers and the Ocean from the top.

In the distance we can see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The photo was taken before the terrorist attack ( 9/11 ), when the Twin Towers collapsed.

On September 11th, 2001. I was 8 years old.

I remember being shocked. I was scared.

Ellis Island used to be an immigration station for people who wanted to come and live in America.
