After taking your usual vocabulary tests, you had to determine the roles of each person or group of people and their attitude.
Here is what we wrote:
The judge: He takes the final decision, he weighs the pros and cons. He gives orders to the court, he regulates the debate. He has a neutral position. He looks strict and powerful.
The accusation lawyer: He represents British power and accuses the defendants. He looks calm.
The witness: He explains his point of view. He takes an oath: he swears to tell the truth. In the film, his name is Inspector Robert Dixon. He remains calm throughout the interview.
The lawyer from the defence: He finds arguments to defend his client. He asks questions to the witness in order to have more details. He puts pressure on the witness.
The defendants: They remain quiet and wait for the verdict. They don't agree with the witness, they were nervous.
The audience: They watch and listen.
Finally we explained in French what your had understood of the scene.
