The mystery object + How to understand a document in a foreign language

Hi guys,

today you first had to guess what was in the mystery box I was holding at the beginning of the class and then we continued the lesson with trying to find out what the woman in the document was really holding and what she had done. Here is what we said:

In the present:                    In the past:

She may be holding a gun -> She may have shot her husband.

            ... a vial of poison  -> She may have poisoned him.

          ... a razor / a knife  -> She may  have stabbed him.

                          ... a rope  -> She may  have strangled him.

NB: must / may / might = auxiliaires qui expriment un dégré de certitude (de la certitude la plus forte à la certitude la moins forte).

Finally, we began to study a text in a completely foreign language and you had to guess its meaning thanks to some highlighting (transparent words, characters, places, dates).
