The culprits - I.R.A members

today we first watched a short video clip about the environment. You can watch it again below:

Here is what we said about it:

• The document is an awareness campaign for the environment. I's to sensitize people to protect nature. We should switch off the lights on March 26th at 8:30 pm during one hour; it's called "Earth Hour". It intends to save energy.

Then we continued our class about Ireland. Here is the correction for the homework you had to complete for today (hypotheses in the past):

• The people reponsible for the bombing may have been the Catholics. Terrorists from Eire may have planted the bomb -> (to) plant a bomb.
  They may have wanted to scare / threaten the UK so as to take Ulster back -> (to) want to scare.
  The I.R.A may have planted the bomb/ organised the attack.
  
  -> may have + participe passé = exprimer une hypothèse sur un fait passé
  
   

Finally, we watched another scene from the movie to confirm that I.R.A. members were reponsible for the bomb in the pub. You can watch the extract below:

Here is what we said about it:

• Who is reponsible? Why and why not?

• 
  - the beggar? -> he has nothing to do with it.
  - the couple of friends? -> They can't be responsible. They are in the park next to the pub at the same time as the bomb explodes.
  - the I.R.A members? -> They are responsible for the attacks.
  At the beginning of the scene, they are building a time bomb and synchronising their watches.

HW: you need to fill in the worksheet I gave you about the "Historical Truth" in the movie (translate the expressions / words into French with the help of a dictionary if you don't understand them).
