Phonetics and Module : "How to describe a picture"

In groups, we corrected your exercise on phonetics about body parts.

Here are the words that you pronounce with the same vowel sound:

[e]: head / forehead / chest / leg / neck
[eə]: hair
[aʊ]: brow / mouth
[i]:finger / chin / wrist
[ai]: eye / thigh
[iə]:ear
[əʊ]:shoulder / nose / elbow / toe / throat
[æ]: hand/ankle
[a:]: arm/ calf
[ei]: waist
[i:]: heel / cheek / knee
[ʌ]: stomach / thumb
[ʊ]:foot
[ɔI]: boy

Then we continue our lesson by making sure everyone knows how to present, describe, and comment on a document. Here is what we said:

The document is :

  • a picture
  • a painting
  • a panel (from a comic book)
  • a drawing
  • an advert
  • a graph
  • a poster
  • a cartoon ...

The document deals with ...
The picture depicts / represents...
