Oliver Twist, the movie poster and the movie still

Hi guys,

today we first see how your irregular verbs tests would be like next week (with 40 verbs) then we continued the lesson about Oliver Twist.

Here is what we said about the movie poster and the first still of the movie:

Oliver Twist: the movie poster:

The document is a poster of the movie Oliver Twist. It was adapted from Charles Dickens's novel by Roman Polanski (the director).

It's the story of a poor orphan who becomes a thief. He doesn't have parents (they are dead) and he doesn't have a house. The story is inspired by the life of Charles Dickens who worked in a mine and factory when he was 12.

In the picture, a man is running after Oliver because he wants to catch him. He's just robbed / stolen his shop. But he is running very fast. Maybe the man will not catch him. He will probably be caught by a policeman.

Grammar: Exprimer le futur = WILL / WILL NOT -> 'll / won't

First still of the movie:

The picture is dark because...:

  • - night

  • - no electricity / just candles

  • - weather

  • - a prison-like atmosphere

  • - suspense

  • - easier to rob / steal
