New Sequence = Mobile Phones

Hey,

today we started a new sequence but because I had a computer problem, we couldn't listen to the document so we focused on oral participation. We first warmed up about the fake fire drill and carcrashhere is what we said about it:

"to be written by Royda"

Then we continue with our new sequence entitled "Mobile Phones". We listed the different functions and both the advantages and drawbacks of this phone. Here is what we said:

Functions of a mobile phone:

- call friends
- send text messages / pictures
- listen to music
- surf on the internet -> log on to Facebook -> google things on the internet.
- set an alarm...

Drawbacks (Negative Points)
- You may* have an accident if you are phoning and driving at the same time.

- If you use your mobile phone a lot, you may* have a brain tumor. It may* fry your brain because of the waves.
-> Instead of being in close contact, you should use earphones or send text messages.

Advantages (Positive Points)

- You can use a lot of applications, you can use it as a regular phone, a camera, a computer, an MP3 player and an alarm clock.

- You can call emergency if you have an accident.

Finally, we focused on grammar and how to express capacity and authorisation:

waves cancerGrammar: Exprimer la capacité et l’autorisation

(to) allow
(to) permit someone to do something
(to) enable

Example: a mobile phone allows people to send text messages.

HW: don't forget your irregular verbs + answer the question on the worksheet.

Files: Download the worksheet here again.

Hey Royda,

thanks for posting the first part of the missing lesson to update the blog. I'll be posting it tomorrow on the blog.

As for multiple posting, you don't need to send the same lesson many times. Just make sure you get the green message when you have posted your comment: "your comment has been validated..." or
something like that. And I publish it as soon as I can.

Take care,
Mr Hattais.

PS: I'll be waiting for the rest of your posts when you can send them.
