New sequence - Dreams and the Gold Rush

Hey,

today you first had a small test on irregular verbs. Then we moved on with the beginning of our new sequence. We first commented on this picture:

pipedreams-rolls-royce.jpg

Here is what we said about it:

The Rolls Royce in the gilded / golden cage

The document is a drawing. It represents a car in a gilded cage. There are 2 groups of people who are looking at it on both sides of the cage.
The couple on the right looks rich. The man may be a business man who is going to buy the car. He is carrying a briefcase with maybe a lot of cash in it.
On the contrary, on the left, a man is standing alone. He looks sad and disappointed. His shoulders are slumped. He would like to buy this car but he can't afford it.

We also imagined what the character on the left could be saying. Here it reads:

He might be saying:
-> "Wow! This car is so beautiful! What a pity / too bad, I can't afford it"
-> "I wish I was / were rich"
-> "I wish I had a lot of money"
-> "I wish I could afford this car"

Grammar:

HW: for next time, you need to be able to comment on this picture again, i.e. learn your lesson.
