Kraft Foods - the end

Hey,

today we first warmed up about the weather again and here is the new expression you learnt:

Then we continued speaking and analysing the oral document about Kraft Foods. Here is what we wrote in our copy books along with the corrections for the exercises and the new vocabulary:

Lexical fields:

Junk food production: food producer, company, marketing policies, chain 

Consequences and junk food: consumers, to cut back on, unhealthy foods, obesity level, overweight, high calorie, high fat, health concerns, weight problems.

1. Kraft is an important corporation in the USA.
2. People are particularly worried about rising obesity levels in rich countries.
3. In America two thirds of adults and fifteen percent of children are overweight.
4. The company will stop advertising its products to young viewers.
5. Last year the hamburger chain McDonald's fought off a lawsuit by children.

Voc:

(to) cut back on: réduire (quantité)
obesity: l'obésité
a statement: déclaration
health concerns: problèmes de santé
(to) fight off a lawsuit: répondre à une accusation en justice
(to) sue / (to) file a lawsuit against someone / (to) bring someone before a trial

Finally, and only with the 2nd group, we had time to practise pronunciation of the "liaisons" in English.
