Julien's presentation about BoA + correction of your exercises + Junk Food text

Hey,

today we first had a presentation of a video clip. Julien did a pretty good job. He can be proud of what he's acheived. His song has been selected to be displayed on the blog for a week.

Then we continued with the correction of the exercises about articles in English.
Here is the correction for the 1st two articles:

1- Choose Between the or Ø
Ø GM tomatoes, as puree, first appeared on Ø British supermarket shelves in 1996 (a different fresh GM tomato first appeared in the US in 1994), but the consumer fury and controversial study carried out in ØScotland by a biochemist suggested that a few strains of Ø GM potatoes might be toxic.

In the second hour, we started a new text but we first identified what ingredients could be junk food items and what foods were healthier options.

Problems about junk foods:

Then we read and commented on the text pp. 100-101 of your text books. Here are the comments that we made about it:

Examples of junk food ingredients: Cookie Crisp, Root beer buttons, Pizza, Toaster strudel, Marshmallows, Cheese, French Fries, Count Chocula, Bacon, Pancake, peanut butter, doughnut, Bun, Cereals, Cookie blast oat meal.

Foods that are healthier options: Oatmeal, broccoli, Ryvita, Muesli, (some) Cereals, Mushrooms.

Text p. 100-101:
The document is an extract from an autobigraphy by Bill Bryson, an American writer. He and his wife are in a supermarket in America. They don't agree about the type of food to buy. The wife would like to buy healthy food as usual whereas the husband would like to purchase junk food.
The couple first started their lives in the US then moved to England; they have stayed there for 20 years. Now they are back in the US and the husband has cravings for junk food while running errands at the supermarket.
