Irregular Verbs + Murals in Derry (continuation)

Hey,

today we first did a test on irregular verbs. Then we continued studying the video about Northern Ireland and the murals in Derry.

Here is what we said about the match between the historical events and the paintings on the walls:

The 3 murals in black and white.
- First mural: It depicts how the youth of the bogside took on / fought against and won against the police and army.
It represents the civil war in Derry.

- Second mural: It deals with Bloody Sunday when 14 unarmed Catholic civilians died because of the British army.

- Third mural: It shows the Republican hunger strikes of 1981.

- Conclusion: All these murals in black and white recall bleak and stark events in Ireland whereas the colourful mural with the dove is a symbol for hope and change in the future.
