India (voc) + text "Arranged Marriages"

Hi guys,

today we first did an oral competition to know who could remember and use as many words as possible in sentences to speak about India. Then you refused to do your presentations (positive and negative things about the country... shame on you... ... ... there will be consequences...).

* a blooming economy, i.e. a developing, growing and attractive economy --> "Success of the high-tech industry"

Mumbai's a shadow city:

* poor living conditions

--> "can't access water or proper sanitation"
* Exterme poverty

--> "They are a lot of poor people who try to survive & many people who take refuge in dreams"

Finally you presented the main elements in the text that we have started to study:

The document is a newspaper article from an Indian magazine. It was published recently (in 2009) .
It deals with the problem of child forced / arranged marriages.
          
- Who: It features the main character who is called Rekha. She is a 12-year-old child.

HW:

- préparez une présentation powerpoint sur l'Inde que vous accompagnerez de commentaires à l'oral (sans note) pour décrire la situation telle qu'elle est aujourd'hui dans le pays.

- finir la fiche "Resist" qui porte sur le texte.

- retravailler vos posters (AIDS) de façon à améliorer votre note qui n'est que temporaire.
