English Day by Day is designed for school students to improve their performance in the English language.
Hey,
today we first talked about the pension reform. Here is what we said about it:
"to be written by Marie-Sophie"
Then we continued speaking about Pink's song and we worked on how to put pressure on someone. Here is what we said:
"to be written by Marie-Sophie"
Finally, we started working on a new picture, its description and symbols. Here is what we said:
"to be written by Marie-Sophie"
Thanks to the picture illustrating the text and the introduction, we made some hypothesis about what the text was about:
Tthe scene takes place in Mr keating's room. Neil has come to talk to him about a problem:
- He may want to talk about his future studies.
- He might want to say he is hit by his father / he is beaten up by his father.
- He may want to justify why he was absent / missing.
- He may want to understand his lesson better.
Actually, he wants to talk about his future studies and about his conflict with his father. He has more trust in his teacher than in his father.
We also finished reading the text and we also talked about the similarities between the text and the picture. Here is what we said:
"to be written by Marie-Sophie"
HW: for Friday Nov. 5th, you need to finish the comment on the picture, i.e. prepare yourself to speak about it and finish the "hidden context", "opinion", and "branch out" parts.
