Haiti + Harry Potter + Present Perfect

Hey, today we first warmed up about the natural disaster that took place in Port-au-Prince a week ago. Here is what we said:

The earthquake in Haiti : a natural disaster
There was a huge earthquake in Haiti last week
There is huge human damage / the number of victims was a huge.
The number of victims = death toll

More than 200 000 people died = two hundred thousand

Phonology: mots en -age [i]

Then we continued speaking about Harry Potter and corrected the vocabulary exercise. Here is the correction:

- dans ses rêves les plus fous : in her/his wildest dreams
- traduction : translation
- fou / folle : insane
- s'attendre à : expect
- prévoir : predict

Finally we explained again how to use the present perfect and you had to perform a role play in pair work with questions to ask your neighbour.
Here is what we wrote on the board:

Pair work :
- Amine has never read a Harry Potter book in English.
-> Djulian hasn't read a Harry Potter book in English either because reading is harder than speaking in English.

- But Amine has already watched Harry Potter movie and he liked it but he has never watched a movie in English. He prefers watching movies in French.

HW: for next time, you need to prepare a report about your partner and complete the exercise I gave you about the present perfect.
