Follow-up work about Junk Food

Hi guys,

today we continued working and talking about the cartoon with the two characters who are morbidly fat.

Here is what we said about it:

The picture represents two characters, a husband and his wife at their home.

They have been sitting in their couch in the living room in front of the TV for long time.

They have been watching the telly for very long time .

They have been eating crisps and all sorts of junk food for days (there is a spider in the empty box on the right)

The cartoonist aims at denouncing the effects of junk food and TV on our health.

There is a contradiction. The woman is criticizing GM food (Genetically Modified food) while she eating junk food.

She doesn't know / she is not aware that fries, crisps or sugary sodas are unhealthy.

She's put on weight because she eats too much junk food.

As a consequence she's morbidly fat; it's dangerous for health.

Grammar:

Present perfect : have/has + participe passé

Valeur de BE + ing en combinaison avec du Present Perfect = il y a des traces visibles d'une action qui a des répercussions dans le présent (dans le dessin, des paquets de chips vides un peu partout).

Autre exemple de quelqu'un qui arrive plein de cambouis:

"Oh my God, what have you been doing?" -> Cela traduit la surprise de la personne (voire le dégoût). En tous cas, il s'agit d'une réaction par rapport à ce qui est observé et qui a eu lieu auparavant.

HW: vous devrez apprendre votre commentaire, et trouver le nom en anglais de 10 items de "Junk Food".
