Final analysis of the song "Family Portrait"

Hey,

today we first classified some words into two lexical fields. Here they are and also the name of the lexical field:

Two lexical fields :

FAMILY : brother, father, mother, step-brother, brother-in-law.

DIVISION/CONFLICT/SADNESS : pain, crying, yelling, destroy, hurt, world war, fight, split, two addresses.

Then we commented on the song again and here is what we said:

--> The singer speaks about her family and more precisely about her parents.
They are getting a divorce / breaking up / splitting up and their attitudes / behaviours have an influence on their children.
They yell at each other, they fight and it hurts their children.

--> In the song, the singer says:

* "Momma, please stop crying"
The singer wants her mother to stop crying.

* "Daddy, please stop yelling"
The singer wants her father to stop yelling.

* "Let's play, pretend we are a family"
The singer wants her family to pretend they are a united family.

Finally we did some grammar work on the structure "want...to". Here are the answers to the 1st three sentences from your worksheet:
