Expressing exasperation + end of the text about Ana

Hey,

today, we first started the class with a warm up situtation as usual and here is what we said:

Expressing exasperation:

"Eat your Breakfast! Now!" the mother demands.
The child spits at his mother and says: "No, I won't. You stupid cow!". He bites her.
"Ouch!" she slaps him across the face and pours his breakfast onto his head.
"What on earth were you thinking!", she finally says exasperated.

Equivalents: What the heck ... / What the Hell ... / What the f*** ...

Then we finish correcting the worksheet and we particularly insisted on the situtation of Ana's family back in Mexico. Here is what we said:

They live in a plush modern house while their neighbours live in shacks / slums. They enjoy having a high standard of living. However, there is a trick / problem / drawback / down side: the neighbours are envious and jealous. They are offended at what Ana earns in the US.

HW: don't forget that you have an exercise to complete (verbs and prepositions) + there will be a written comprehension text about immigration on Wed.
You may download the exercise here again:
