English Day by Day is designed for school students to improve their performance in the English language.
Hey,
today we first chatted about the biggest gossip of the year. Here is what we said:
Every body talks about the Tony Parker and Eva Longoria divorce / break up / split up.
She has found hundreds of text messages in Tony's phone / cell / mobile. Therefore, she thinks... :
- ... he has cheated on her and she wants a divorce.
- ... he has betrayed her.
- ... he has had an affair.
Then we continued to talk about how to write a dialogue and what you could say if you found out some dubious text messages in your girl/boy friend's cell phone. Here is what we said:
"You should be ashamed of yourself"
"Shame on you"
"You -- mother fucker"
"You -- bastard"
"You -- ass hole"
"bloody fool"
"How could you do this to me?"
"You're such a pig !"
"Get out of my house"
"Get lost"
Finally, I gave you the correction for your dialogues. Here are the important expressions of speech and behaviours that you need to remember (from Marine's paper):
- said anxiously
- grew thoughtful
- sat down
- whispered in a nervous voice
- stammered
- said in an angry voice
- frowned and tapped his feet impatiently
- grinned ironically
- said in a sarcastic tone
- urged
- burst into tears
With group #1 only, we had time to comment on a new picture which is the symbol of our new sequence. Here it is...
