today we started correcting your tests from last week about stereotypes and here is what we said about them:
Stereotypes about the French in the text: They are believed to be stubborn = They won't speak English unless they are shouted at. The French are said to be crap** at English. The French are believed to be proud of themselves (narcissistic) The French are said to be thieves.
For all these reasons, some Americans have preconceived ideas of the French. They are exasperated because of all these defects / flaws.
Translate: In general, American travelersare advised tostick to cheeseburgers. En général, on conseille aux voyageurs américains de s'en tenir aux cheeseburgers.
