Correction of your tests + start of the new sequence

http://art4collectors.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/duane_hanson_tourists_2.jpgHey,

today we corrected the test that you took last week about Real TV. You did quite a good job on the whole. ongratulations to Aurélie in particular whose paper served as a model for the correction.

You can download a copy of the correction here:

Then we continued the lesson with a new sequence entitled: "Stereotypes". We began to study the photograph of two statues by Duane Hanson. Here is what we said about it:

The picture represents two statues by Duane Hanson. Immediately / At first sight, we think they are German tourists. They are wearing old-fashioned summer clothes. They are also wearing outdated flip-flops and old camera. Moreover, they are fat; they correspond to the stereotype / cliché / preconceived idea of the German tourist.

HW: find 5 stereotypes about Canadians and learn your lesson of course!

More information about Duane Hanson here.

Finally, please vote for the best drawing down here:
I can't believe it... Did you ask your students to do that? I think it's an interesting idea. I voted picture 4!

Yes... I did ask them to draw from the instructions of other students... and it worked... didn't it? As we are really low on equipment... I had to find good ideas to make them study a picture...
:)
