Commenting on the song/poem Strange Fruit

Today we first warmed up about AIDS again because some of you were given condoms by the highschool.

Then we continued speaking about Strange Fruit and here is what we said about the song:

"to be written by Jérôme S."

I hope you can now grasp the full meaning of the song and see how poetic and deep it really is. Each time I listen to it, it makes my flesh creep because of the images it conjures up.

HW: for next time, you need to be creative! You need to arrive with a draft of a poem of 10 to 12 lines about racial discrimination in the US (nowadays, before the civil rights movement, or before the Civil War: it's up to you to choose).
You need to :
1- appeal to the 5 senses (touch, smell, hearing, sight, and taste) with the images you conjure up.
2- make stark and striking contrasts between the ideas you depict.
3- try to make it sound like a poem or a song (rhymes, alliterations, assonances, ...).
