today we continued to study Charles Dickens's biography that you had to reprhase in your own words. Here is what we said:
Positive facts:
Charles Dickens was a writer / a novelist. He became famous when he was 24. He created an organization to help the poor.
Negative facts:
He was poor so he had to work in a factory 10 hours a day when he was 12.
He didn't go to school.
He married and he had 10 children.
He divorced his wife because he didn't love her anymore.
He died suddenly / when he was young (58).
Cultural facts:
In the 19th century, it was frequent / common / normal to abandon children when you were poor.
Oliver Twist is a novel by Charles Dickens. It is about an orphan (Oliver).
