we listened to an audio document entitled "The American Dream - New York's population" in which you could learn a little bit more about New York City's population and districts. We made a chart about the immigrants who went to the US, the districts where they mostly lived, the reasons why they immigrated and the problems that they now have to face.
Voc : a district = a neighbourhood = a borough : un quartier. In Spanish, the word for "neighbourhood" is "barrio" and that's why the part of East Harlem where most of the Latinos live is nicknamed "El Barrio".
We concluded saying : "The American dream represents a hope for a new better life".
