http://www.susansflags.com/media/catalog/category/generalicon.jpgHi guys,

today we first finished the spelling bee that we had started yesterday and then we continued with a vocabulary exercise about school orders, rules, and classroom English expressions.

Finally we played the game called "Simon says..." where you had to do the actions I told you to do when I said for example:

"Simon says... open your books!"

We finished by listing the names of the flags in the classroom. We'll continue this next time.

- bien connaître ses leçons et son vocabulaire.

http://www.cbc.ca/nxnw/bee.jpgHi guys,

today was your spelling competition! We still have 3 candidates to go in order to finish the contest.

Let's hope they'll do as well as the ones who have already participated.

Don't forget to be polite, ask for a definition of the word, and ask to repeat if necessary.

See you next time.

Mr Hattais.

Hi guys,

today we worked on describing a picture and giving orders (negative ones: what you MUSTN'T do). You can have a look at the picture we used again below:

She's eating chewing-gum
They're chatting

He's using a mobile
's writing on the desk

Giving orders (negative) = DON'T

- Don't eat chewing-gum in class
Don't chat!
Don't use a mobile!
Don't write on the desk!

- pour mercredi: réviser pour le spelling bee (questions / réponses / mots à épeler).
- pour jeudi: faire l'exercice de vocabulaire.

Hi guys,

today you had to recap what we said about classroom English last time and copy the lesson in your copybooks. Here it is:

Problems ---> Solutions

I can't see the board.
-> Can you switch on the lights?
-> Could you step aside, please?

I have a stomach ache / a head ache.
-> Can I go to the nurse, please?

I'm hot.
-> Could you open the window?
I'm thirsty.
-> Can I get some water, please?
I'm cold.
-> May I put on my coat?

-> May I get a tissue? /
-> Can someone give me a tissue?

I don't understand.
-> Can you explain, please?

- recopier les phrases écrites dans le cahier sur votre marque-page sans faire d'erreurs dans les cases correspondant aux situations.

- apprendre le nouveau vocabulaire et actualiser votre carnet.

Hi guys,

today I first checked that you knew your lesson about Akeelah and the Bee alright. Then we continued with some classroom English expressions.

You can listen to them again here:

- pas de travail pour demain sinon s'entraîner au spelling bee grâce à la liste des mots fournie sur internet.

- vous pouvez quand même essayer de mémoriser les problèmes / solutions vus aujourd'hui même si nous n'avons pas eu le temps de noter la trace écrite dans le cahier.

Hi guys,

today we continued the lesson about Akeelah and the bee, a spelling competition.

You can watch the trailer here again:

Here is what we said about it:

Lesson: Akeelah and the bee

The video is a trailer.
It's in the USA.
It's a spelling competition.

The title of the film is: "Akeelah and the bee".
The hero is a girl. Her name is Akeelah.

The music and the people are happy.

"Can I get some water, please?"
"Can I start over?" / Can I repeat?
"May I have a definition?"

contestant = candidate / jury / audience = spectator

- Grégoire, you can download the MP3 version of the video and document you asked me for here:

Hi guys,

today we corrected your phonetics chart and learnt how to pronounce the words correctly according to their phonetic symbols.

Then we started a new activity about the trailer of the film "Akeelah and the Bee".You had to find the letters which were actually pronounced in the video.

You can watch it here again:

- réviser la prononciation des mots avec le tableau phonétique.

- Pourquoi ne pas rajouter des mots anglais que vous connaissez déjà et qui se prononce comme...:

ex: door / floor / wall / ... dans le tableau phonétique ?

- coller la fiche d'évaluation "Spelling Bee Contest" à la suite du cours.

http://www.michellehenry.fr/20.jpgHi guys,

today we first made a quick recap of the different adjectives you need to know when you speak about feelings.

Then we continued the lesson with a "phonetics Bingo". You had to tick the names you heard to see if you had a bingo.

Finally, we completed the phonetics chart with the first names you heard according to their pronunciation.

today after completing last time's lesson (about Max who is ALWAYS late!!), we continued the lesson with a new song: "Hello, how are you?"

We wrote down the chorus and the lyrics; and you learnt the choreography!

Well done!

You can watch the song down here again:

- apprendre la chanson et bien connaître les mouvements pour chaque mot de vocabulaire (feelings).

- découper et fabriquer son "English Bookmark".

- coller les feuilles "Phonetics Chart" (1 / 2 / 3 / 4) en partant de la fin du cahier.
