today we continued talking about the description of the body + clothes and accessories.

 

Here are some examples of what you could say:

 

It's a girl / woman.

She is tall and thin.

She's got short curly red hair.

She's got a big green eyes and a long nose.

She's some make-up on her mouth and eyes.

She's wearing earrings and a neckalce.

She is beautiful.

 

Clothes:

- a T-shirt / a shirt

- a jacket / a coat

- a bow tie / a tie

Homework:

- bien connaître le vocabulaire et les structures de la description physique + accessoire.

- Etre capable de se décrire soi-même en disant "I".

Hi guys,

 

today we worked on new vocabulary to talk about the body and how to describe someone:

- Age -> He is about 35 = He is in his 30's = He is not old and he is not young. 

- Size and Build -> tall / medium tall / small / short / tiny

- Hair -> length: long / medium long / short --- type: curly / frizzy / wavy / straight --- colour

- Eyes -> size --- colour

...

Hi guys,

 

today we first worked on correcting the wordsearch about "The Body". Then we continued the lesson with the end of the song by Rihanna.

You wrote the words in [ai] in your phonetics chart and we worked on the personal pronouns from the song:

You and I = We're like diamonds in the sky

 

Le verbe/auxiliaire BE:

I am-> I'm

You are-> You're

He / She / It is -> He / She / It's

We are -> We're

You are -> You're

They are -> They're


NB: L'apostrophe remplace une ou plusieurs lettres qui ont été "effacées". Cette forme contractée s'utilise en priorité à l'oral.

 

Finally, we began to study some portraits of people in a crowd.

Here are some sentences you had to repeat:

He has short red hair. He has blue eyes and a long nose. He is very strong.

They are twins. They have short blond hair. They have blue eyes and square faces. They are very tall and thin.

- connaître parfaitement la leçon sur BE.

Hi guys,

 

today I first presented the new system of "oral participation" in class. Let's hope your houses are going to rock it!

 

Then we resumed our work about "physical description" with a phonetics exercise. You had to put the words in the correct columns according to their pronunciation.

 

For example:

-> "head" is pronounced like "leg" (and "pen")

-> "shoulders" is pronounced like "nose" and "toes" (and "coat").

...

Homework:

- apprendre les mots de vocabulaire avec leur phonétique (= la bonne prononciation).

- compléter la fiche de la chanson de Rihanna "Diamonds", si ce n'est pas encore fait (en ayant pris soin de reporter dans le tableau phonétique tous les mots en [ai] de la chanson).

today we worked on the vocabulary of the body and there was a "big challenge": a dance competition. Yamine is the one who won the challenge! Good job!

- vous devez apprendre et connaître parfaitement votre vocabulaire du corps.

- terminer la fiche (wordsearch) commencée en classe.

- pas de travail en particulier mais vous pouvez réécouter la chanson "head, shoulders, knees, and toes" dont vous connaissez tous la mélodie mais pas forcément les paroles parfaitement.

- préparez-vous pour le test oral (présentation de la météo). Vous pouvez vous entraîner grâce aux cartes ci-dessous.

- Pour réussir le test, prenez connaissance des critères. Pour avoir 14/14, il "suffit" de s'assurer que vous savez tout faire... :)

Hi guys,

 

today we worked on the correction for the worksheet about the weather and we talked about the weather forecast tomorrow in the UK.

Here is what we said:

 

What is the weather forecast for tomorrow?

-> In England tomorrow, it will be generally sunny and cool.

-> In Scotland tomorrow, it will be raining but there will be sunny periods

-> In Ireland tomorrow, it will be cloudy and overcast but it will be cool.

 

Grammar: Utiliser le futur avec "will" = Sujet + WILL + Verbe

-> It will be cool

-> It will snow

-> There will be sunny periods...

- Leçon + regarder l'exercice 9 et anticiper les choses à dire pour présenter le bulletin météo (présentation, description du temps, salutations, remerciements, ...).
