Hi guys,

today you first had to guess who the manga characters you had created looked like. You did a good job.

Remember =

She / He looks like ...     /// She / He doesn't look like ...

   ex: Is she wearing a pink T-shirt -> Yes, she is  /// No, she isn't.

Then we continued the lesson with trying to find the thief who had stolen the socks from the teenagers' lockers. Maybe the dog is the thief... who knows...?

   ex: Where are Sophie's socks? -> Maybe they are in the dog's mouth or in his stomach... :)

We'll finish this lesson next time.

Hi guys,

today we first did a quick recap of how to express resemblance in English.

Then you took your final test about description.

Finally, we started a new sequence with Sophie and Ben who have lost their socks... maybe the dog is responsible... maybe the dog is the thief... we'll see about that...

Here are some ideas you said:

- Sophie has got only one sock. She is looking for her red sock but it's missing.

- Ben hasn't got any socks. He only has his shoes.

- I think the dog has eaten the socks. Maybe the socks are in his mouth or his stomach and he will have a stomach ache... :)

Hi guys,

today we first corrected your exercise (write the contrary) with many possibilities. You did quite a good job! Congratulations!

We worked on the contraction of the negation "not" into -> ...n't and its pronunciation like in "isn't" or "aren't".

Then we continued the lesson with the listening of a last document for this sequence about physical description.

You had to find which manga character the woman had created. Here is what we said:

First, she created a girl with a pony tail and a pink ribbon.

But then, she decided to change. She created another character. Now the girl has got wavy black hair and a blue fringe.

Then she changed again! The girl has got straight brown hair and a straight fringe too.

Finally, her picture looks like a boy but it's a girl with spiky brown hair and big blue eyes.

Hi guys,

today we first worked on phonetics (the diphtongs in English like [ai], [ei], ...). You had to write the new vocabulary words in the correct (cf. chart at the end of your notebooks).

Then we continued the lesson with rephrasing some sentences. Here is some information to understand better if you haven't:

- He has got long curly hair -> His hair is long and curly.

- She has got green eyes -> Her eyes are green.

- His nose is small -> He has got a small nose.

I -> my

You -> your

He -> his  / She -> her  / It = its

We -> our

You -> your

They -> their

- terminer la fiche de travail (exercice "write the contrary").

Hi guys,

today we first made a recap that you wrote in your copybook about "Quentin" (description in your test).

Then we practised speaking English in pairs. You had to describe a thief to a policeman who had to draw a sketch.

Here are the questions you could ask:

Has he / she got ...?

-> Yes, he / she has.

-> No, he / she hasn't.

Is he / she wearing ...?

-> Yes, he / she is.

-> No, he / she isn't.

Does he / she look like...?

-> Yes, he / she does.

-> No, he / she doesn't.

Then 2 groups of students came to the front of the class and did a presentation.

Finally, we worked on the pronunciation of diphthongs [ai], [ei], ...

Hi everyone,

today you first took a test and then we corrected its 3rd exercise.

Here is the correction:

His name is Quentin. He is English.

He is tall and slim.

He has a round face.

He has short straight brown hair.

He has got blue eyes and a small nose.

He is wearing a tie, a blue jacket and a shirt.

He looks like a businessman.

I think he is elegant.

Hi guys,

today we first worked on the correction for your homework (vocabulary).

Then we continued the lesson with a methodology recap (an example of how to describe a person correctly). Here is what we said:

1- Leila is a Pakistani girl. (identity)

2- She is small and thin. (size and build)

3- She has a round face. (face)

She has short wavy dark hair. (hair)

She has small dark eyes and a big nose. (eyes / nose ...)

4- She is wearing a necklace and a blue and purple T-shirt. (clothes and accessories)

5- She looks like a boy. (resemblance)

6- I think she is ugly. (opinion)

http://stayonfountain.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/guess-who.jpgHi guys,

today we first did a quick recap about methodology with Tabasum who did a great job! Congratulations!

Then we continued the lesson with identifying people in a crowd. You had to spot them and justify your choice in English.

Finally, you had to listen and draw a character according to some instructions in English.

Hi guys,

today we first played 4 "Guess Who?" games with 8 volunteers. Not too bad! But you still need to understand how to answer shortly (using the words in the question).

Here is what we wrote:

1) Gender (boy or girl)

2) Size and build

3) Face: hair (length / aspect [curly, frizzy, wavy, straight]/ colour), eyes (size / colour), nose, mouth, ears... -> He / She has got ... // I have got ...

4) Clothes and accessories -> He / She is wearing ... / I am wearing ... / You are wearing ...

Hi guys,

today we have nearly finished introducing the topic "description" with the last vocabulary words in context.

Next time, we'll write a lesson about the methodology of the description and we'll play the game: "guess who?"
