Hi guys,

today we had time to finish learning the song about prepositions of place. For those who haven't finished completing the lyrics, you can watch the karaoke version here again:

We sang along the song and continued to work on a new lesson with the visit of a house. We just started to learn the new vocabulary.

Hi guys,

today we first corrected the exercise you had to complete for today (word search). Then we started a new activity. It's a song with two beavers who are in love. Cute, isn't it?

You learnt new words and the choreography of "prepositions":

in / on / under / in front of / behind / next to / between

Watch the video again here:

Hi guys,

today we first worked on associating a pet to its owner.

Then you gave out your riddles about different animals for the class to guess.

Here is what we finally wrote:

It has four legs. It's man's best friend. It likes running and collecting objects (shoes and bones). It's a thief. It's Romeo!

-> It's James's dog. It's his dog.

It's got four legs. It lives in the kitchen in St Malo. It loves eating lettuce and carrots. Its name is "Bobonne". *

-> It's Aliette's turtle.

It has two long back legs and two short legs. It lives in her garden in Australia. It can jump very high.

-> It's Sharon's kangaroo.

vocab

's -> pronunciation [z] , [s] , or [iz] - "la laisse du 's" ou bien "la contraction de /is/" ou bien la marque de la 3ème personne du singulier ou bien la marque du pluriel ou bien la contraction du verbe "has got".

his / her / its = l'appartenance (à un homme / une femme / une chose)

Hi guys,

today we worked on talking about pets and their characteristics. Here is what we said:

Whose pets are they?

Theodore Roosevelt had 5 / many / a lot of baby bears. They are not pets. They are wild ferocious animals.

Thomas Jefferson had a bird, many dogs, and a bear cub.

NB: A pet lives at home.

Vocab:

a bear - a baby bear - a bear cub

a parrot - a bird

a turtle

a kangaroo

a fish

a rabbit

a cat

a dog

Grammar:

HAD = has / have au passé

many / a lot of = remplace un chiffre pour indiquer une grande quantité

a few = remplace un chiffre pour indiquer une petite quantité

http://pocketrangerblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grizzly.jpgHi guys,

today we made a recap of what "Mount Rushmore" is. Then we continued talking about the statues of the presidents.

We reviewed how to say a date (eg: 18/65 ... 19/01 ... ...) "o".

The date of birth and the date of death -> He was born in ... and he died in ...

Finally you had to listen to a document about the presidents' pets. It was strange to hear for example that Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt had 5 baby bears!!!! Can you imagine?! It's crazy.

A bear is not a pet, it's a wild ferocious animal!!!!!

Hi guys,

today we first finished the lesson about collections and during the last 5 minutes of the class we could talk about Mount Rushmore, a giant sculpture carved in a rock in South Dakota, USA.

You can have a look at the document in your books.

Hi guys,

today we first talked very briefly about the Big Challenge and then we continued the lesson with a new part: How to talk about "Collections".

We learnt new vocabulary and you talked about James's collections and your personal collections.

You told me if your collection was big: "I have got a lot of ..."

and if your collection was small: "I have got only a few ..."

Homework:

- votre carnet de vocabulaire sera ramassé mercredi 29 mai. Mettez-le à jour. Attention à l'orthographe et veillez à l'illustrer.

Hi guys,

today we worked on the recap of the lesson about the thief and the socks. Then we learned the dialogue p. 52, acting it out in front of the class (underlining important elements to remember for each role).

Hi guys,

today we finished talking about the picture and the situation where some socks have disappeared! The dog (Romeo) is the thief! What a naughty dog! :)

Here is what we said:

The dog is the thief

Sophie is looking for her sock.

She is missing one sock.

She has got only one sock.

Ben hasn't got his two socks.

Romeo is the thief. He has got the socks:

   - Sophie's sock.

   - Ben's green socks.

   - Sharon's socks: they are blue, dirty and smelly too. Dogs like smelly and dirty things.

Romeo is a great sock collector. He also collects shoes and bones too.

Grammar: Demander l'appartenance et y répondre.

La question (the question):

- WHOSE ....? -> Whose sock it this? / Whose socks are these?

La réponse (the answer):

- It's Sophie's = la laisse du 's
